- BUSINESS:
The business was started in 1981 and is the leading local manufacturer of inverter welding machines in SA. The company also sells and distributes a full range of welding consumables plus transformer type welding machines, in support of its inverter machine sales. - LEGAL STATUS AND LOCATION:
The business trades within a private (Pty) Ltd company and operates from premises in Strijdom Park, Randburg. - MARKET:
The primary customer base comprises the mining industry, the steelworking industry, heavy industry and exporters. The annual turnover is divided approximately 70% to inverter machine sales, 10% transformer units and other bought-outs, and 20% welding consumables.
- TECHNOLOGY:
The inverter range of welding machines are manufactured in accordance with technology supplied by a third party designer, in accordance with an exclusive technology agreement. Some elements of the design are patent and copyright protected. The designer is not an employee but is a shareholder and fulfills the function of technical advisor. - STAFF:
The staff compliment is currently 27 people (excluding directors), of which 19 are employed in production, 5 in sales and distribution and 3 in admin. - VISION:
The business prides itself on the quality of its manufactured equipment and the service it provides to its customers.
